Dr. Michael Gissell, Jr., DDS, MD

Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Dr. Michael Gissell Jr., DDS, MD, brings dual medical and dental training to his patients at San Antonio Surgical Arts, with four offices throughout San Antonio and New Braunfels, Texas.

After graduating from Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree in biomedical science, Dr. Gissell earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Baylor College of Dentistry. He then earned his Medical Doctor degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and completed an internship in general surgery at Baylor University Medical Center, followed by a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Baylor College of Dentistry.

Dr. Gissell is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Texas Medical Association, Texas Dental Association, Baylor Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Alumni Association, and San Antonio District Dental Society.
