Michael Gissell, Jr., D.D.S., M.D.

Dr. Michael B. Gissell, Jr. was born and raised in the Austin area. He graduated from Texas A & M University, College Station, with a degree in Biomedical Science in 1996. In 2000, he graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas with a doctorate in dental surgery. Dr. Gissell obtained his Medical Doctor Degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock in 2003. Dr. Gissell completed an internship in general surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. In 2006, Dr. Gissell completed a residency program in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. Dr. Gissell is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Gissell has been associated with San Antonio Surgical Arts since the completion of his residency program. He maintains memberships in numerous professional organizations, including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Texas Dental Association, San Antonio District Dental Society, American Medical Association, American Dental Association, Baylor Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Alumni Association, and the Texas Medical Association. In addition to his involvement in professional societies, Dr. Gissell has been recognized for his participation in various university and dental school organizations.
